In 1995, the provincial optometry regulatory authorities created OEBC as national not-for-profit corporation to develop and administer Canada’s entry-to-practice exam. Its members are the ten provincial optometry regulators in Canada.
Vision — To be the sole provider of competency assessments for optometric regulatory authorities in Canada.
Mission — To continually develop and administer a legally valid and defensible entry-to-practice examination to assess competence in the practice of optometry in Canada that meets Members’ expectations.
Values — A commitment to Trust, Integrity, Transparency, Engagement, and Responsibility.
